Stephanie Lamoline (1976, Antwerp, BE) is a visual artist based in Brussels, Belgium.

Balancing between three-dimensional work and flat images, Stephanie Lamoline deconstructs recognizable forms into subtly distorted representations. A key element of her creative process is the distinctly plastic treatment of photography, allowing her to explore the boundary between sculpture and photography. By repeatedly deconstructing and rebuilding her images, Lamoline creates a process of continuous evolution, where the work grows and shifts in a playful, lighthearted way.

Her work often unfolds in series focused on specific objects, with the creative process itself taking center stage. Through simple visual interventions, she experiments with colors, shapes, and materials, revealing the many facets of her subjects, opening up new ways of seeing them.

Lamoline has previously exhibited her works at Emergent (BE), De Warande (BE), Netwerk Aalst (BE), Z33 (BE), Benaki Museum (GR) Photobookweek Aarhus (DK), Photovisa Biennal Krasnodar (RU), Rotterdam Photo (NL) and Singapore International Photofestival (SG)

Her book Quatre Mains / Zonder Handen has been selected for various international book awards and has been exhibited worldwide.

She obtained a degree in interior design (1998, Sint Lukas Brussels), received her bachelor’s in jewelry design (2008, Sint Lucas, Antwerp) and recently finished a course in photography at the Academy of Visual Arts, Anderlecht.

After 10 years of focussing on the upbringing of her kids, she was ready to start her own artistic practise. She’s a member of Level Five Artistic Ecology in Brussels.
